Presque Isle Tech Center Student of the Year
Dane has been in the Farm Mechanics program for two years and has only missed one day. He has worked at Driscoll Diesel, his dad’s shop, since he was old enough to walk. He has also had jobs with Valley Farms and BD Grass and Son’s farms. With this experience, great determination, a fantastic work ethic and a little help from friends and family, he planted, tended, harvested and sold a crop of potatoes. He worked to get his Class A commercial driver’s license so he could legally get the crop to McCain’s processing plant. Dane loves trucks and equipment and owns a bucket loader and tractor with a bush hog. He hauls gravel and mows to make a little extra money. He has been active in the FFA program at school since the 7th grade and has earned his Supervised Agriculture Experience Proficiency award 4 years in a row as well as several State degrees and he won a gold medal in the tractor driving competition. When he isn’t working or in school, he volunteers his time to run the groomer for Ashland’s snowmobile trails. Presque Isle Tech is proud of Dane and all of his accomplishments.
