Plant Science Class

The Plant Sciences class learned the basics of micro propagation at the school farm with the help of Randy Martin. The students have started some Beech trees and some clippings off of our raspberry plants that are on the MSAD #1 School Farm site. The students learned how to use sterile techniques when working under a laminar flow hood. They are excited to see if their tubes are ‘clean’ when checked later. There have also been discussions about learning how to cut and start strawberry plants. It’s always amazing how much science takes place in agriculture!
