Exciting things happening in Drafting and Engineering Technology: What better way to kick-off the new school year than with a challenging project! The second year Drafting & Engineering Technology students started reverse engineering a unique magneto impulse coupling for an antique automobile collector in Rhode Island. With only patent documents and drawings to go by it will be a challenging project indeed! Once they figure out how the device functions and the design intent of each component they will work to develop each part in Solidworks and assemble a mock-up and/or prototype using our 3D printing technology to help finalize the design then develop a complete set of shop drawings.
