Students of the Quarter – Quarter 1
When choosing a student of the quarter, Mrs. White looks for students that have excellent attendance, demonstrate initiative in their work, are leaders the classroom by modeling superb work habits, contributing to class discussions, and for students that are respectful at all times. Garrett Morneault fits this description perfectly. Garrett is a first year student enrolled in Introduction to Business, Entrepreneurship, and Personal Finance in the Business Department. Garrett is a student that can be counted on to go above and beyond in the classroom and consistently works at an excellent level on classroom projectsand assignments. His serious nature will be an advantage in his future! We are confident that these attributes will contribute greatly to his success in Forestry someday. We are looking forward to a successful year with Garrett. Congratulations on receiving Student of the Quarter for Quarter 1!
Kassandra Nelson is a second year student in the Business Program and is a perfect fit for our Student of the Quarter – Quarter 1! Kassandra is working hard to earn an additional 10 credit hours from NMCC by adding Principles of Accounting 1, Business Math and Customer Service to her previous 9 earned from last school year. When describing Kassandra her peers say that she is helpful, creative, and has strong work habits. She has a positive attitude making her so enjoyable to be around. Kassandra also has admirable maturity for her age and an advanced degree in self-discipline. Kassandra has made many valuable contributions to PIRCTC, including designing projects such as the 50th Anniversary emblem, creating staff posters and unique packaging for our school farm. We know we can count on her to assume additional classroom projects and responsibilities at an exceptional level-and we are looking forward to what she will come up with this school year! Her enthusiasm for life makes each day fun and unique. Mrs. Lovely, Mrs. White and her peers genuinely look forward to seeing her bright smile every single morning. Congratulations to Kassandra Nelson – our Business Student of Quarter 1! You have earned it!
Mrs. McCurry’s student of the quarter is Emma Burby. Emma is a student from Caribou who attends the Aquaculture/Natural Resources program. Emma shows an exceptional degree of enthusiasm for the topics we study in class. She is an expert in the study of reptiles and amphibians and we learn something from her almost daily. She is kind, cooperative, has a fantastic work ethic and is a true asset to our program. Congratulations, Emma – we are so glad you decided to join our program!
The Farm Mechanics program has chosen Thomas Patenaude as the student of the quarter. Tom is a highly motivated young man and thrives at pretty much anything he tries. He is willing to help out with other students when the need arises without even being told to do so. Tom is a well-rounded student, he likes to dabble in a little bit of everything-mechanics, welding, metal fabrication, electrical, whatever might be thrown at him. He has near perfect attendance in the program, which means everything. We try to make the experience here like a normal work environment. I know Tom has talked about possibly going off to college for welding, I know he will do great in any career he decides to follow! His positive attitude and great work ethic will take him far in life. Congratulations Thomas on a job well done.
Destiny Soucie, a second-year student who comes to PIRCTC from Caribou, is the Cosmetology Program’s first student of the quarter for 2018. Inspired by her aunt’s career as a hairstylist, Destiny’s future goals include attending a post-secondary cosmetology school in preparation for taking her state licensing exam. Her desire to achieve her goals is evident in all that she does, from being the first student in class with her station ready to begin the day, to her dedication to learning cosmetology theory, and her steadfast determination to master practical skills. Combine all of this with Destiny’s willingness to help out whenever called upon makes her contribution to our class in line with that of licensed pros in the career field. Well done!
Mrs. Hunter is pleased to announce Brittany Brissette as the Early Childhood Education student for the first quarter. Brittany is a senior at Caribou High School and this is her first year in the program. Brittany is a very quiet and reserved student but has really started to come out of her shell. She is working hard in class and makes sure to meet every deadline and submit quality work. Brittany holds positive relationships with the children in the center, her peers, and the ACAP staff. Brittany has quality interactions with the children during lab time. She always has a smile on her face and is eager to play and interact with the children. She is very helpful when asked to do something above and beyond her daily tasks.
Mrs. Gross’ student of the quarter is Izabelle Higgins. She is currently enrolled in the AgriScience block for Chemistry, Biology, and Lab experience. Izzy has also become an active member of FFA and stepped in to fill the officer seat of Treasurer left vacant this year. She participated at the Big E in Springfield, MA this fall showing her horse in conjunction with her 4-H group. Izzy works tirelessly to always do her best in and out of school. Congratulations Izzy!
At PIRCTC we are always striving to recognize student achievements. One such student is Grace Gallagher in Mr. Harper’s Drafting & Engineering Technology class. Grace is the embodiment of exceptionalism. She arrives every morning with a cheery hello and always gets right to work. She makes best use of time and lives by the moto of completing 70 % of the work to be done in the first 50% of the time. Grace’s dream is to pursue a degree in engineering and work to develop cutting edge prosthetics for the disabled – a dream we know she will achieve. Grace is always looking for opportunities to learn and gain new skills and experience and is very willing to share her knowledge with her classmates who may be in need of help. It’s a pleasure having her in the classroom and we can honestly say the she is definitely deserving the honor of being our Drafting & Engineering Technology student of the quarter. Congratulations Grace!
