22/23 Quarter 2 Students of the Quarter
Mrs. Gross’ student of the quarter for AgriScience is Kaiden Rosi-Carney. Kaiden will be a “completer” of the Agricultural Science program by the end of the year. He has been with us for 3 years and will have taken all the courses we currently offer. Kaiden has not only taken all our CTE classes, he also has participated in both concurrent enrollment courses offered in conjunction with UMPI. He has a quiet, patient demeanor and enjoys being constantly busy. This has benefited us in the Fish Lab as he will patiently gather rogue guppies! Kaiden has been accepted at UMFK in the forestry program with the hopes of becoming a licensed forester for one of the local landowner companies. Mrs. McCurry and Mrs. Gross could not be prouder!
Mrs. McCurry’s student of the quarter is Sierra St. Peter. Sierra is a student from Caribou who comes to us for Aquaculture and Natural Resources. She is a very quiet young lady, who contributes greatly to our program in many ways. Sierra is incredibly kind and patient and she is cooperative in many diverse situations no matter what activity we are pursuing. She is businesslike and serious on a daily basis and brings a lot of prior knowledge about the subject matter we are studying. One of her special projects has been to revive a live plant tank in Mrs. Gross’ room and she is having a great deal of success with her meticulous attention to detail and patience with the project. We enjoy having Sierra with us and we look forward to seeing the final results of her spectacular planted aquarium.
Mrs. Donahue is pleased to announce that Bailey Emerson is the student of the quarter for Early Childhood. Bailey is a second-year student in Early Childhood and a senior at Presque Isle High School. Bailey is always aware of the needs in the classroom when she is in the lab working with students. She is always eager to step in and help with any task. Bailey is also a SkillsUSA member and she will be competing in the promotional bulletin board contest. After high school, Bailey plans to attend NMCC for Early Childhood.
We are pleased to announce that Rylee Chasse is our student of the quarter for our Engineering Technology program. Rylee is a second-year student in Engineering Technology and is also working to complete the CIE 101 (Engineering Graphics for Civil Engineers) dual enrollment course with the University of Maine College of Engineering. In addition, Rylee was recently interviewed for a Pulp & Paper scholarship (which is a big accomplishment) and is planning to attend the University of Maine majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Always polite and quiet spoken, with a very strong work ethic, Rylee is a pleasure to have in the classroom. He is always willing to help others, share his knowledge and ideas and works to achieve exceptionalism at all times. We are proud of Rylee and all his accomplishments.
Congratulations to Wyatt Allen on being selected as the Building Trades student of the quarter. Wyatt is a first-year student from Mars Hill in the Building Trades program. He has proven to be a very dependable, reliable, and knowledgeable student on class projects. He works well with all of his classmates and is a hard worker. We are pleased to announce that Wyatt will represent the Building Trades program at the SkillsUSA competition in March.
