Industrial & Farm Mechanics Students Weld!
Here at Presque Isle Tech Center, we learn by doing! Our Industrial and Farm Mechanics students learn a wide range of skills in the program. Here, students are learning how to run beads with the SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) or stick welding. They will learn to weld in the flat, horizontal, vertical, up/down and overhead positions using multiple types of welding electrodes. Students also use the oxy-acetylene torch to bend and cut metal as well as braze weld. This program also offers 3 college credits!
